For this event we trailered our band organ into New York City, lower Manhattan, to Theodore Roosevelt childhood home on 20th street. The event was celebrating reopening of the home after significant renovation. The street was closed to traffic and we played music throughout the day. It was the most unusual venue we had so far played at. For this event we only played period music written before 1920. We included a song associated with Teddy Rossevelt's Rough Riders called, There'll be a Hot Time in the Old Town Tonight." We were all delighted when a teen girl while listening to the music spontaneously burst into impromptu ballet dance in the middle of 20th street! We were quite the curiosity!
